• Current Feeds

  For some current feeds, high heat resistance and conductivity are essential characteristics. 
   

• Shielding Elements

  Due to its high density, Tungsten is used to shield against radiation in measuring instruments, for example, to prevent measuring errors. This application is also used very often in medical apparatus construction.
   

• Furnace Components

  In constructions of high-temperature furnaces tungsten is used for lining and thermal shielding, because of its high heat load capacity.
   

• Lighting Components

  Besides high temperature resistance and good conductivity of tungsten, also the coefficient of expansion, which is very similar to the one of glass, is decisive for this application.
   

• Tools

  High stiffness and mass of the tool holder is very significant for precision tools. Stiffness and very high density are salient characteristics of Tungsten and therefore it is a commonly used material for these applications.
   

• Coating Elements

  Due to their heat resistance, Tungsten elements are widely applied to vacuum vaporizing equipments, generally used to evaporate metals.
   

• PVD-Cathodes

  For the creation of fine coatings, materials are vaporized within an arc, which then condense on the substrate and build a coating. The high thermal load capacity of tungsten plays an important role here.
